Mercury Rx | The Soda Float
Mercury is stationed retrograde from May 10th to June 3rd, a time of inner work, introspection, and shadow work. Many astrologers state that our communicative styles become more challenging during this energy, technology malfunctions, and many other cliches. However, Mercury stationed Rx doesn't have to be these three "emo" weeks. Storytime
It goes something like this... I was in Rockafeller Center yesterday celebrating my friend’s Birthday at a roller skating rink. As I'm standing there watching people glide on roller skates, I begin to crave Mr. Softee's ice cream. So I go on a little hunt to find one. I found an ice cream truck a few blocks away. I ordered a vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone. Before leaving, I glanced at the menu and noticed the soda floats. It was too late to order the float!
Overnight, I dreamt of traveling to Puerto Rico. In the morning, I had a eureka moment! I realized the connection between the soda float and the dream. The soda float was part of a childhood memory. When my family and I would go on vacation to Puerto Rico. My mother and I would go to 'El Pueblo' (a commercial area at the center of town). In el pueblo, there was a candy shop that served soda floats. I loved it there! The memory of the soda float -especially the sweetness lingering in the air- and the narrow sidewalks of the town leading us to different stores felt good. I would bask in the taste of such deliciousness along the way. All of my childhood memories came coursing through me just by glancing at a picture of a soda float. That very memory landed in my dream world pointing to an important part of my waking life.
Lesson
The lesson here is memories are magickk. Whether light or dark, working with memories can help us change something within us to create the change we want in our life that focuses on 'I am’ and the 'now.'
